Many people know us in winter, but have you been to the top of Vassfjellet in the summer?

Every Sunday (from August 27 to October 15) we open the chair lift in Vassfjellet for those who want to go for a walk in the "mountain". We have marked a new route suitable for the whole family, starting at the descent from the chairlift. The 4.2 km long trail is easy to follow and well marked, and takes you through the most beautiful part of Vassfjellet (see map and tour description further down the page). The terrain is a bit wet at the moment, so some good footwear is recommended. If you want to take the chairlift back down, it will be open for return until 4pm.

Feel free to end the trip with a visit to Vassfjellkroa, down by the car park. Fresh baked goods, waffles and stews are served here from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For those who have bought a SEASON TICKET for winter 23/24, the chair lift will be FREE . For other guests, the following prices apply (round trip):

Adult 75,-
Barn 50,-
Full chair (6 people) 200,-
Receipt of the ticket is shown to the lift driver

If you want to buy a season ticket for 23/24, you can do so HERE .

We will be open every Sunday this autumn from 11.00 - 16.00 (Ten 11.00 - 16.00), up to and including Sunday 15 October. Remember to show the receipt for the purchase of a single ticket or season pass to the lift operator.

Tour description

Trondheim's "coolest" Sunday tour starts at the exit of our new chair lift. From here you follow the marked trail south past our water reservoir (493 m) and further along the Vassfjellstien. After 1 km of flat terrain, the ascent begins to Vassfjellvarden, the top of Vassfjellet (711 m above sea level). Here you can enjoy a fantastic view to, among other things, Sylan in the east and Trollheimen in the west. When you are at the top, you are about half way through the trip. From Vassfjellvarden, you walk on easy terrain over the ridges on Vassfjellet, before turning off the Vassfjellstien and going down towards the chair lift again. Along this section, the wettest areas have been knocked down.

Total turlengde: 4,2 km
